As
a member of the Desert Valley Music Teacher’s
Association (DVMTA), D’Net’s students are able to
participate in many different competitive and
non-competitive events. These include:
Music
Marathon (October)
This
year, we are playing at Superstition Springs Mall, in
the Mervyn's Court.
Original
Composition Festival (November)
Students
compose and record a song that is submitted to a local
music composer. Pieces are evaluated, with praise and
advice on possible improvements. Students then perform
their pieces in the Composition Festival Recital, and
receive a trophy for their hard work.
Cavalcade
of Rhythm (February)
Twenty
pianos on the stage with two students on each piano all
join in for a massive duet. What could me more fun?
Awards
in Excellence (April)
This
is a competitive event open to 10 students from any
given teacher’s studio. Students play two memorized
pieces from a repertoire list for a judge. Winners in
each level receive a cash scholarship and trophy, and
honorable mentions receive a trophy.
Achievement
Day at Mesa Community College (May)
This
year-end activity celebrates are rewards successful
performance and music related activities at each level.
Ribbons and trophies are given for successful completion
of the requirements.
